On 24th September Arran, Ian, Nick and Dave braved the cold water, steep hills and a completely rational fear of Lycra to take part in their first Triathlon, raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support in the process.
Arran completed the solo event finishing a very respectable time of 2hrs 07mins whilst Dave (swim), Nick (cycle) and Ian (run) completed the team relay in 1hr 59mins.
It was a truly fantastic morning out with a great atmosphere. Arran even got the opportunity to meet a couple of local heroes; Jonny and Alistair Brownlee, and talked about the new F&C designed training facilities the brothers will be using at Boddington. The new £5million centre will create significant training facilities for cycling and triathlon in Leeds and will be a permanent base for British Triathlon within the region.
A huge thank you to all who sponsored the team. There are rumours circulating of wider F&C involvement next year!
